Thanks to the knowledge of our guide Stefan, we luckily did see a bear! We had the opportunity to watch it comfortably for quite a while, the bear even made a failed attempt to chase some deer. Stefan knows a lot about the bears and the area itself, he basically climbed all the peaks there! He is a very friendly and open guide, and easy to understand and communicate with in English. Would definitely recommend to take a bear watching hike with him and would also do it again if we would visit Slovakia in the future.

He talked to us the whole way about nature, bears, and I don’t even know how the time flew by with my daughter (8 years old, we did it on bikes). The route was absolutely beautiful, and we even saw a bear!! For me, it was one of the best experiences of my life. We learned how to perceive nature in a different way, that a bear could be walking above your head on a mountain, and you wouldn’t even know it :) He gave us a whole new perspective on how to sensitively appreciate the forest and its inhabitants with respect and love.
